Haunted Places in India

Bhangarh Fort, Rajasthan: haunted places

Bhangarh Fort, located in Alwar district in Rajasthan is considered as one of the most haunted places in the world and is well preserved.  Many stories and Bhangarh incidents make up the unique tale of this fort. One such myth says that Singhia, a well-versed wizardry magician who used to live in the region had fallen in love with the charming princess Ratnavati of Bhangarh. Since there was no way by which he could accomplish her, he decided to bring into play black magic to captivate the oil intended to be used by her, such that the mere touch of the oil would hypnotize the princess, and she would surrender herself. However, the occultist’s plan was countered as the princess learned of his intentions, and she threw the oil away. The oil touched a stone, and the stone, rolling towards the wicked tantrik, squeezed him. While dying, Singhia cursed the palace with the death of all who dwelt in it. The very next year there was a battle between Bhangarh and Ajabgarh perhaps Ratnavati died.

Some locals feel that one spirit that haunts the area is that of the black magician Singhia, and will rid itself of it only once the princess returns to the palace. All in all, if one is looking for some ghost and adventure hunting, or is looking exclusively for the Bhangarh haunted experience, then these mystical and alluring ruins make up for a sure shot winner.
